01. Introduction
My Maison Team is not only specialising in interior building renovation but we also provide professional services for exterior works. This is an upgrading work for a factory in JB, to dismantle and replace a brand new metal roofing. In terms of material selection, we have chosen superior corrosion resistance roofing to overcome the long term exposure towards heat. The colour-layered on steel roofing should be able to give long terms warranty and high colour fading resistance.
02. Process
It is a challenging process dealing with large coverage roof area. With all of the structural support system being weld and bolted in place, we can then fix in the purlin. Next, fix the wire mesh and double-sided aluminium foil to reflect and further reduce solar heat. Rockwool insulation in then inserted to further minimise the heat & noise into interior.
03. Ideas
We have to ensure that the roofing is able to withstand with wind forces and drain all the rainwater efficiently to both end's gutter. This involves professional advices on the gutter size, rainfall intensity, roof dimension, catchment area per downpipe, number and location of downpipes, sizing etc.
04. Conclusion
As a reliable builder, we need to take note on the roofing overlapping parts to ensure no water seepage would occur in future. Proper installation of roof flashing, waterproofing at joint area, weatherseal silicone sealant are all the important factors to take note during installation.
